Naija Postal Code starts with Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas and progressively narrows each location down to a postcode, building and delivery point. You only need the postcode for everyday use — the deeper levels place that code precisely and, when needed, identify a specific building or delivery point.

Postal area
A Postal Area represents one of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas. Naija Postal Code creates one for each LGA, using familiar vehicle registration codes such as KJA, KSF and KUJ.
What the code means: KJA identifies the Ikeja Local Government Area.
Gives every address a clear LGA home before anything more precise is assigned.

Postal district
Each Local Government Area is divided into numbered Postal Districts. The district narrows the search from the whole LGA to a smaller geographic part of it.
What the code means: KJA identifies the LGA. The 6 identifies Postal District 6 within that LGA.
Keeps large LGAs manageable for routing, registry work, and scoped administration.

Postal sector
A Postal Sector divides a district into smaller geographic zones. It narrows an address further before the final postcode is assigned.
What the code means: KJA = Postal Area · 6 = Postal District · 3 = Postal Sector

Postcode unit
The Postcode Unit is the complete postcode people use when giving an address, filling a form or arranging a delivery. It identifies a small group of nearby addresses rather than necessarily one building.
What the code means: KJA → LGA · 6 → District · 3 → Sector · BD → Postcode Unit
This is the everyday code Nigerians share. One unit can cover several nearby buildings.

Level 5 · Specific building
Building ID
Every mapped building can have its own Building ID. This lets the system distinguish individual houses, offices, shops and other structures even when several buildings share the same postcode.
What the code means: Two houses may share KJA6 3BD, but they do not share the same Building ID.
Makes multi-building compounds and shared postcodes workable for logistics and services.

Level 6 · Exact flat, shop or office
Delivery point
A Delivery Point identifies the exact place within a building where someone needs to reach you. It could be a flat, shop, office, reception, apartment or other deliverable location.
What the code means: A block of flats has one Building ID but can have several Delivery Points.
Supports last-metre delivery and service visits when one building has many destinations.
